The Wilshire Grand Lights up the Los Angeles Skyline. Le Nouvau Plus Grand Building De Los Angeles Prend Sa Forme

 

Over the past month, the Wilshire Grand Center has begun testing the array of LED lights within its sail-like crown.  Los Angeles-based architectural photographer Hunter Kerhart has captured images of the process, which can be seen below.

From Tuesday through Thursday evenings, the 1,100-foot-tall tower will display the colors of a Los Angeles sunset, in a group effort to promote the City’s bid for the 2024 Summer Olympics.  Other local landmarks including the U.S. Bank Tower, Walt Disney Concert Hall and the Los Angeles County Museum of Art will also be lit with tones of yellow, orange, red and purple.

The 73-story high-rise, budgeted at $1.2-billion, will feature 350,000 square feet of office space, 45,000 square feet of retail space and a 900-room InterContinental Hotel when it opens in June 2017.

The Southern California Association of Governments and real estate services firm Cushman & Wakefield have reportedly signed leases within the building, which was designed by the venerable Los Angeles architecture firm A.C. Martin. Continu reading
